Montella and the formation that has never convinced: double work for Jack and Borini

In a few hours AC Milan will face Napoli at San Paolo in a crucial match. A positive result is needed and Montella is making a few changes to ensure of that.

Vincenzo Montella tries to stun his colleague Maurizio Sarri. From the 3-4-2-1 formation used in the last matches to the 3-5-1-1, the game system that, as Tuttosport newspaper points out, in the previous outings did not convince at all. At San Paolo, L’Aeroplanino will deploy Jesus Suso behind Kalinic, with a thicker midfield.

MIDFIELD OF FIVE – Somewhat a surprise, Ricardo Rodríguez (a true national hero in Switzerland) will sit on the bench. Space for Manuel Locatelli, which will join Montolivo and Kessie in the centre, with Bonaventura wide to the left and Borini on the opposite track. In this regard, the work of wingers will be crucial: Jack, who will have more offensive tasks, will have to play all over the flank, while Borini will be called to withdraw in defense when the team is not in possession of the ball.

DEFENSIVE TRIO – In defense, after the rumors circulated in recent days, Bonucci will retain his role as central defender, with Musacchio (who should be preferred to Zapata) on the center-right and Romagnoli to the left of the Rossoneri captain. The goal is to block Mertens and colleagues: it will not be an easy task but vital if the rossoneri want to exit San Paolo with a positive result.
